PIMUST
The Partnership for Improving Mathematical Understanding of Students and Teachers (PIMUST) links the Columbus County Schools with the Science & Mathematics Education Center (SMEC) at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

The goals and objectives of PIMUST are to:

1. Establish and sustain working relationships between teachers and university faculty via professional development, dialogue, and structured contact
2. Increase student achievement in math using state and national standards, aligning standards, curriculum, instruction, and assessment and site-based coaching
3. Identify and remediate teacher content, pedagogical knowledge and leadership
4. Support and extend school system and state assessments
5. Conduct research and disseminate finding
